RESEARCH PROGRAM

Our research program focuses on developmental pathways that allow an individual to reach their full potential within their social and environmental context.  Using a multidisciplinary approach, CRDH Researchers examine critical health and social challenges faced by our society (i.e., successful social adjustment during the first years of life, young children's transition to formal schooling, the transition from adolescence to adulthood, and the maintenance of competence in old age).  Each of these challenges involve developmental transitions (e.g., from adolescence to adulthood). Our research program helps to clarify the nature and impact of these transitions with the ultimate goal of improving environmental support and maximizing individual competencies to ensure excellent mental and physical health, social participation, and a high quality of life across challenging developmental transitions.
